1 Description

It will be interesting for a student to have access to his score when he finishes a test included in a SCORM document. Currently, only the author of a SCORM document has access to the SCORM tracking informations. We usually consider the score as a reference. It can be disturbing for a student not to have access to it. This functionality would be really important.

Suggestion: “Score” data should be shown in an optional column of the “learning progress” presentation. If score data is available it will be presented, if not the column is left empty.

JF 2 Apr 2012: We appreciate this improvement and schedule it for 4.3.

Matthias Kunkel: There is a conceptual problem of the current implementation of this feature: a normal user has no chance to see the learning progress of a SCORM module in the repository but only on the personal desktop (which is too far away). This is because the SCORM module is launched in a new window without having an ILIAS typical module menu (with Info and Learning Progress and ...). So we need to find a solution:

Option 1: we add a new option "Learning Progress" to the Actions menu of the SCORM module. If clicked on it ILIAS presents a LP page like known from other ILIAS objects where only the learning progress of this users is presented.
Option 2: we add an option "Show My Learning Progress" to the Info page of a SCORM module. Same like above when clicking on it.

Jean-Paul Manigand : I think Option 2 is better. With this option, we have the same function as an ILIAS test.

Jour Fixe, 17 Sep 2012: We make the Personal Learning Process accessible as a separate main tab beside the Info tab. This will allow learners to access their learning progress easily within the repository. We might extend this behaviour to all objects with LP and Info in 4.4, i.e. ILIAS LM, HTML LM.

5 Implementation

User are now able to access their personal learning progress for each SCORM module. The latest score is displayed in this view.
Please note that the module must have learning progress enabled (Settings / Learning Progress).
