Change account name

This additional feature of user administration allows users to change their account names in the user profile themselves. You find it in Administration » User Accounts » Settings: User Name Settings

The feature is helpful for installations where user accounts are created out of LDAP or other directories and user names are cryptical or critical, e.g. user names like abc12 or user names that have the same login name as webmail accounts. Such automatic generated user names may be replaced by "natural" names like «Adam Smith».
