Show Membership Allocation

1 Description

Show membership allocation in repository view for courses and groups. This is necessary if there are a lot of courses/groups with a limited number of places and students should join in a self organised way (for example learning groups, workshops). At the moment they either have to click on every info tab to check if the course/group still has free capacities or they click "Join" every time and in vain. Showing the number of free places in the repository directly makes self organised joinig a lot easier in this scenario.

Feature has been scheduled originally for 4.2 but postponed to 4.3 due to missing funding.

JF 28 Jun 2010: Since we are facing performance issues with the representation of item data/options in repository lists, we would prefer to support an performace optimized solution with 4.2. We also would prefer "Free places: x / No places left" instead of "Member: 2/10". And we should add an information that displays, when the registration period has ended (or will end). There are other possible improvements in the "join" process which we should keep in mind (e.g. using the title link of the course, if not joined).
