Restriction of self-registration to specified mail domains
1 Description
It should optionally be possible to restrict self-registrations to users with e-mail addresses from specific mail domains. A simple comma-separated list should suffice, the possible usage of wildcards would be desirable (eg. "*uni-stuttgart.de"). (The wildcard character doesn't have to be an asterisk, though.)
This already exisits as a patch (for 4.0/4.1) for Universität Stuttgart. What's missing is a GUI on/off switch and the list mentioned above.
2 Status
- Scheduled for Release: ILIAS 4.3
- Funding: Funded by Universität Stuttgart
- Development: Feature is to be developed by Leifos
3 Additional Information

4 Discussion
JF 9 Jan 2012: We highly appreciate the feature. It should be added in the administration to the "Authentication and Registration" section in tab "New Registrations".
5 Implementation
JL 31 Aug 2012: As suggested above the setting can be found in Administration > Authentication and Registration > Registration Settings. One or more (separated by ";") domains can be stated. * is used as a wildcard, enabling more complex patterns like "*-ilias@ilias*.de". The registration form will give information about the valid domains.
