Performance improvements of the forum tree

1 Description

With the implementation of Tree navigation in forums with ILIAS 4.2, the tree navigation was revised. With ILIAS 4.3, we would like to replace the synchronous tree operations with AJAX based expand/collapse actions do reduce the server load. Furthermore we would like to omtimize the database operations for rendering the tree. In the current 4.2 implementations, the tree is fetched recursively, which is not necessary due to the nested set model. This would have positive effects on the performance especially for big forums with lots of posts.
 
Moreover we reduced the amount of database queries necessary for the presentation of the posts.
 
These implementations are almost finished and itegrated in the hsuhh subversion branch.
