2 Bugfixing for maintained versions 4.1 and 4.2

We went through Mantis and had a overlook about all open issues. All issues were screened and assigned to the responsible developers.
The following 4.2 related issues were discussed in the Jour Fixe in more detail:
  1. URLs in Profile » see ILIAS Forum: We recommend to open a feature wiki page where this issue is tackled. We agree to interprete http addresses in the profile as clickable links to support the profile's usability.
  2. 8410: Shibboleth settings attributes missing: We agree that the matriculation field should be added to the shibboleth mapping.
  3. 8859: Several problems with LearnLinc courses and rooms: The responsible developer will fix the bug.
  4. Template path presenter: Daniel Sebbin from Universität Rostock has created a PHP class (see http://ilias.ds-mathematics.de/ilias/debug.php) that shows all used template pathes of the current screen. We consider this as a helpful option for developers for template debugging. Daniel Sebbin shall get into contact with the CSS maintainer Jean-Luc Braun to integrate this class in ILIAS.

3 Development Issues of 4.3

  1. Filemanager: Today we had a detailed look at the feature. We still appreciate its functionality and hope that Mac/Linux support will arrive with ILIAS 4.3. The following issues should be tackled:
    • Since the GUI is not integrated into the ILIAS template engine, the GUI should be as neutral as possible.
    • The language texts should be retrieved via SOAP to support multilinguality.
    • The correct icon paths should also be retrieved via SOAP, so that customized icons can be displayed.
    • We need a technical documentation that explains the basics (own chapter in the development guide).
  2. Certification Service for Courses: We would like to present the certificate download
    • object lists: in the status area below title/description (preloader)
    • within the object: in the actions area at the top right (use certificate icon + action)
    • The certificate should be triggered by the "passed" status of the course.
  3. Ownership Management: If an object is linked at mulitple locations, each one should be listed separately (one row per ref id). This way all actions can be listed in the actions drop down.
  4. 8997: Delete Own Account: Jörg and Matthias will discuss the open issues and find a suitable solution.
  5. 8993: Active Users Name: The (fixed) behaviour in 4.2.4 is currently the desired behaviour. We consider using email addresses as account names as a bad practice. If you suggest any conceptual change, please add a feature request to the feature wiki.
  6. Custom Metadata Extensions: We would like to rename the feature from "advanced metadata" to "custom metadata". The custom metadata fields should be appended to the "quick edit" screen of the metadata tab (which should use the formgui class). In the long run we would like to support "core", "extended/lom" and "custom" metadata configurable for all object types, see Metadata Revision.

4 Current status of ILIAS 4.3 and timetable

We have gone through the wiki page ILIAS 4.3 that lists all features that have been scheduled for version 4.3. We updated the status of the funded and partly funded features.
