Export of Personal Data

1 Description

A function on the personal desktop should allow users to export their data. It should be possible to re-import this data on another ILIAS installation.
 
Funding possibly available for (HSU):
  • Bookmarks
  • Settings
  • Personal Profile Data
  • Notes (without assignments to objects in the repository)
  • Personal Calendar Appointments (no group / course appointments)
This feature has been originally envisaged before ILIAS 4.2. With ILIAS 4.2 there is a lot of personal data that should be exportable. Currently there is no funding in sight for:
  • Portfolios
  • Personal Workspace including
    • Blogs
    • Files
    • Certificates

JF 19 Dec 2011: We appreciate the feature, but we definitely would like to fund the import/export of the workspace/portfolio data as well.

5 Implementation

You find the feature under "Personal Desktop" > "Personal Data and Profile" > "Export/Import". Export will always include all personal data types. On import you can choose, wich type of personal data should be imported (see screenshots).
