The Learning objective Driven Course was mainly driven by the long running optes project. It is used to homogenize knowledge of a topic in a cohort in a sef-learning scenario.
2 Reasons to Abandon Feature
2.1 Conceptual Perspective
Teachers are not able to use this feature without a lengthy written instruction. The complexity hindered adoption.
2.2 Technical Perspective
The complexity makes the feature extremly hard to maintain, bug-prone and taxing to test.
3 Integration of Stakeholders
In the summer of 2026 a series of workshops was held to figure out how Reducing Options for ‘Learning Objectives Driven Courses’ would be possible. Effort to fund the reduction and thus keeping core parts of the LOC were undertaken.
