4 General Discussion

This is a project page that bundles several feature wiki pages which belong to a larger development activity for the ILIAS component Metadata, Export, Search, Administration, Cron Service.

This project is a follow up to the (Project) OER-friendly Infrastructure ILIAS 9 and 10 and (Project) OER for ILIAS 11

1 Objectives of Project

We will continue improving the OER infrastructure in ILIAS. The main goals are:

Publishing is easy: There less friction there is in the process of publishing objects in ILIAS as OER, the more people will do it.
LOM in ILIAS is useful: OER should come with useful metadata. If there are good reasons to keep the LOM of objects in ILIAS well maintained, and if it is easy to do so, more people will do it.
Reuse of OER is smooth: External OER imported in ILIAS should not need extensive touch up to be usable.
