3 Discussion

Use the following discussion section to express your objections against this request or your consent to get rid of this feature.

Schmid, Fabian [fschmid] 2025-01-24: if the problem is only the maintenance/authorities, I can well imagine taking them on. As a result of the migration to IRSS, the learning module itself no longer has any major functionality, but the way is open for additional (security) features. Personally, however, I am not very attached to the feature, as I know of too few institutions that use it. I can understand the arguments regarding ‘confusion’.

Wegener, Miriam [miriamwegener] 2025-01-27: Some of our lecturers use HTML learning modules for advanced learning scenarios. Therefore we would be in favour of keeping the feature.

Gerl , Stefanie [stefanie.gerl] 2025-01-27: We have many users

Seiler, Yvonne [yvseiler] 30. JAN 2025: We at the University of Bern would like to collect and analyze some data on the use of the HTML learning module for our installation. We would be happy if we could be given some time to do this and the article could be brought to the JF in a few weeks' time. That way we can get a clearer picture of the situation and form our opinion accordingly.

Kiegel, Colin [kiegel] 2025-01-30: I believe HTML Learning Modules may be used rarely, but can be very useful. However, it seems possible to reproduce this feature as a plugin (and maybe rename it to something less confusing as "HTML Content" object). The main downside would be for certain heavy users to migrate their existing "core" HTML Learning Modules to an optional plugin solution.

Becker, Maximilian [mbecker] 2025-03-18: As per decision on the JourFixe yesterday, I am taking over the authorities for this component.
In order for this to be a success, the continued existence of HTML Learning Modules would be most beneficial, so I retire this request.
