1 Reasons to Abandon Feature

Hints in Questions are rarely used and extremely hidden. The user interface depends on legacy UI elements. Currently, there is not enough funding to move to modern UI Elements.

Furthermore, the concept lacks of informing a test admin in the manual scoring that hints are used and how big the deduction was.

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 08 JUL 2024: The current implementation of hints will be abandoned with ILIAS 11 due to the mentioned issues (missing UI elements, missing conceptual elements).

Nevertheless, we all would like to keep such a feature in the T&A - especially also as a distinguishing element compared to paper tests. Therefore, we would highly appreciate if an improvement of this feature would be realised for ILIAS 11. A feature request has already been created but needs to be completed, see Test: Revise Hints and their visibility in manual scoring. Based on a more specific description of a future implementation, funding requests through the community could be made.

Strassner, Denis [dstrassner], 27 MAR 2025: I changed the page layout to the new page layout for abandon-pages. Please note, that this feature will be removed in Week 16 - 2025.
