Manage Attachments

1 Initial Problem

The management of attachments is currently only accessible from the "Compose"-screen of a new mail. This is quite difficult to find and results in the fact that you can only manage the clipboard if you also go via the "Compose" process.

2 Conceptual Summary

There will be an explicit tab "Manage Attachments". This is offered outside of the "Compose" process of a mail.

When "Edit" (for editing attachments of an email) is called up in the "Compose" form, the management of attachments is offered, where the tab navigation only offers a "< Back".

• A tab "Manage Attachments" is added.
• The legacy table will of course also be replaced by a KS Data Table as part of ILIAS 10.

Potter, Chris [ChrisPotter] 06.12.23 - I strongly suggest that we don't use the word 'Execute'. I know it is a standard term in programming, but this is for the end users.  I feel that the word has too many negative connotations.

Seiler, Yvonne [yvseiler], 11. DEC 2023: The proposed solution helps to manage attachments from outside a mail. But I ask myself, why do we need such a mail attachment repository at all? I know from our users that they tend to have difficulties because they have to attach an uploaded file to the mail and forget this step. But not that they want to find the attachments they have already uploaded. What is your use case here?

10 Implementation

At the moment: Only 'edit' can be used to include files from "my Attachments". Further development will happen under Mail Attachments: Change from »Edit« to »Add« and represents the results of the revision.
