1 Reasons to Abandon Feature

Currently, the Test could send Notifications to the Owner of the Test, if one has ended a test run, and also attach the test results.

I want to abandon this feature / setting in the test, since it comes with various problems:

  1. GDPR: The attached test results contain personal data and since ILIAS has a mail forwarding feature, these results could leave the own systems (e.g. forwarding to free mail provider).
  2. Only the test owner as recipient. No other persons could be informed by this setting
  3. The Setting is not clear enough. Only with limiting the test runs to one (or some other number, and then the notification is sent after the last allowed test run) or the checking of the sub-setting, the notification is sent.
  4. If a user does not finish the test by herself/himself, no notification is sent.

A new implementation of this feature is considered, but is not yet accpeted. See Test: Revise Notifications.

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 28 APR 2025: We highly appreciate this suggestion and abandon the current implementation of notifications in the T&A for trunk. Please remove related test cases once the feature has been removed.
