Setup - Abandon i18n in Setup

1 Reasons to Abandon Feature

Currently the ILIAS-setup is provided in different languages, just like the rest of ILIAS. Since the ILIAS-implementation of the Language-Service relies on the database, the setup has to implement its own version of the language service to provide identifiers in various languages. The setup currently is the target of some refactoring and modernization attempt (see Setup Revision 2018 to get a general idea). To have one problem less to be solved in this effort, we propose to only offer the setup in english for ILIAS 6.0. We expect most users and admins to be fluent enough in english to allow them to handle a setup in english only. Since this is a tactical move, we are open to reintroduce the setup in more language if there still is the strong requirement to do so.

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 23 SEP 2019 : We highly appreciate this suggestion and abandon the language support for the setup for 6. In case of a need for support of different languages there is a possible solution that can be implemented in a later version. But this option does no longer require the existence of a database.

The CLI implementation of the setup is only available in english.
