Study Programme: Filters and More Columns for Member List

1 Initial Problem

Especially in self learning contexts it is very important to evaluate the learning status of students or employees. But as soon as a large amount of people needs to be qualified, it is not that easy to identify learners with lacks of knowledge at first sight. For controlling purposes evaluators do not want to spend extra time searching and bringing different information together. All the relevant information needs to be available at once. To answer specific questions evaluators also ask for sorting options and filters. As new features for the study programme have already been scheduled for ILIAS 6.0 the member list should be extended in order to fulfill future reporting requirements.

2 Conceptual Summary

For administrators of the study programme it should get more comfortable to identify for example users with expiring qualifications or to distinguish between users with or without valid qualifications. Therefore the members view should be improved as follows:

1. New column

• Organizational Unit of User (if user belongs to several units these units should be separated by comma)

2. Order and behavior of columns

• The display of the following columns should be as follows (left to right):

3. Filters

• Status
• Validity
• Completion Date

4. “A-Z”-Pagination

Above the table a pagination from A to Z should be presented to make it easier to look for a specific name. Using the pagination should have no impact on the chosen sorting of columns.

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 24 APR 2019 : We highly appreciate this suggestion and schedule it for 6.0. We would like to have an additional filter for user / user name to make searching for users in big study programmes easier.

Wessels, Karin [karin.wessels], 07 MAY 2019: Unfortunately, a relevant column was missing in the list above when this feature request was presented in the Jour fixe. The column "deadline" which was already accepted within feature request Study Programme: Processing time (as a column for individual plans) should be added in the memberlist as well. Therefore, we will register this feature request again for the Jour fixe on 20 MAY 2019.

8 Implementation

The pagination via A-Z has not been implemented. The rest is implemented as described.
