1 Initial Problem

It is not possible for a user to recommend content to other users with whom she/he is connected through the Contacts. In ILIAS 5.4 it requires EDIT PERMISSIONS to add repository objects to a role to make this content appear as 'Selected Items' on a user's Personal Desktop - provided that this user is subscribed to this role.

2 Conceptual Summary

The separation of the concepts for own selected items (→ Favourites) and 'Recommended Content' by others allows to extend the sources of recommendations. Content should be also recommended by a user to all of his/her contacts.
