Forced change of password and username on first login

1 Description

We often import users who originate from another system where the concepts of 'login', 'password' and (possibly also) 'email' does not exist.
This forces us to generate login and password using a formula, i.e. login=membership number, password=social security number.
When the user logs on the first time he/she should be forced to choose a more suitable login, password and perhaps enter correct email if we was forced to set this as 'noreply@dummydomain.com'.

2 Status=

Scheduled for Release: Not scheduled yet
Funding: iNetworks if help/support is provided by LEIFOS to the core trigers by others.
Development: Feature is to be developed by iNetworks as we have done this before.

4 Discussion

Jesper Gødvad: In the actual implementation I imagine flags on each user

  • Must change username upon next login
  • Must change password upon next login
  • Must provide valid email upon next login (valid = not my noreply-email)
I guess this could also be used for password expirations.

JF 11 Jan 2010: Björn Heyser from databay has implemented a similar feature for the password. Please contact him. For email, simpy do not provide any email on import but make it required in the profile.

Zenzen, Enrico [ezenzen], 18 AUG 2022: This request no longer fulfills the requirements of the Feature Wiki. In consultation with the maintainer I change the status of the feature request to "Redundant / outdated". If the request is still relevant, please update template and mockups.
