Description

Purpose
Disabled Icons visually communicate that they can not be worked with by users i.e. a precondition not yet met or status is offline. Technically this means that read access is not granted.
Composition
The Disabled Icons merely stand out visually: A color shade covers the Icon.  
Effect
The Disabled Icons themselves are not interactive. 

Rules

Usage

  1. Preconditioned objects whose precondition is not yet met feature Disabled Icons. 
  2. Objects to which a user has no read access features Disabled Icons. 
Interaction
  1. Intentionally non-interactive.
Style
  1. Icon will be shaded grey.
Responsiveness
  1. The shade will cover the Disabled Icons in every size 
Accessibility
  1. Disabled Icons MUST bear an aria-label indicating the special status.
