(Project) Improved test question sharing

This page is just a list of several feature requests related to an improvement of question sharing in ILIAS. Please contact Kunkel, Matthias [mkunkel] for additional information about the underlying concept and if you are interested in funding of one or several features.

1 Requirements

This is a project page that bundles several feature wiki pages which belong to a larger development activity for the ILIAS component Test & Assessment.

2 Aim of Project

Creating good questions is a lot of work. Sharing questions among tutors and institutions is highly appreciated - if it is easy and effective. It would be great to extend the current options in ILIAS and to support

1. better descriptions of questions, for example with extended metadata
2. information about the status and the version of a question
3. identification of a question's origin once it has been exported or copied
4. a more effective way to look / search for questions that fulfills a certain criteria.
5. an easy way of rating questions through tutors

These requirements lead to several feature requests that are handled separately. Some of these features are just needed for test questions while others should be implemented as general services to be re-used in other components, too.

The original approach of creating two general services for lifecycle and versioning was substituted by a solution that only is implemented for the Test & Assessment to reduce complexity.
