Cloze Question Gap Type Syntax

This feature request "page" was created after feature freeze, but the feature itself was requested as comment within the following feature page just in time:
Cloze Question Improvements - Look at the comment by Klaus Zimmermann on 26.03.2015.

1 Requirements

The exact question type (text gap/select gap/numeric gap) can be chosen only after having created the gaps.
Inserting the [gap][/gap] code should be refined, so a gap can be generated as a text gap/select gap/numeric gap from the beginning.

This extension is very important for us. When we create a cloze question, we want to select the gap type (text or numeric) in advance.

Heyser, Björn [bheyser]

The maintainer actually do not want to treat users with any syntax to control something, since this is a domain most people cannot deal with. For these users, changing the type by the dropdown in the gap section is more easy and intuitive.

Furthermore the gap tags will blow up with another attribute making the whole gap text less readable. We could imagine to have different buttons for adding gaps with different "initial" types.

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], July 13, 2015: We appreciate the feature and schedule it for 5.1. The GUI should offer a split button with "insert text gap" as primary action and "insert numeric gap" and "insert select gap" as options of the dropdown. Gap syntax for editing this question type should not be re-introduced.

Jansen, Michael [mjansen] This feature will be part of ILIAS 5.2

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], August 31, 2015: We still appreciate this feature and schedule it for 5.2.

4 Implementation

The cloze question offers a splitbutton for adding gaps.
