Learning Progress Settings link to Container

1 Requirements

When configuring the learning progress of many objects - nested in container objects - it is very cumbersome to navigate between the different learning progress settings tab. It would be nice to be able to jump vertically between lp-settings of objects and containers and backwards with only one click (instead of three).

Proposal:

  • Direct navigation from the learning progress settings of an Object to its surrounding container is made possible and vice versa - via button or link in the lp-settings tab. If permissions are missing, the link to the object/container is inactive.
  • Within an object there is a brief indicator, whether this object is relevant for the learning progress of its surrounding container. This can save the time to check the settings of the surrounding container.

3 Discussion

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], August 17, 2015: We highly appreciate this feature and schedule it for 5.1. We ask the maintainer for the following changes / improvements:

  • Presentation of parent objects should only include LP supporting object types (e.g. courses but not categories).
  • Presentation of path should only use type icons but no list bullets.
  • Instead of a "Häkchen"-Icon we would like to have text presentation for "LP relevance".

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], August 31, 2015:

  • Groupings should not be listed.
  • The current object should become part of the tree presentation (maybe highlighted like known from tree).
  • Information about LP determination should be removed and replaced by asterisk (or icon) and legend. Icon will be delivered by icon designer.

4 Implementation

, 18 Aug 2015: The feature has been implemented. The presentation (see below) needs to be discussed.
