Deactivation of notifications about new memberships

1 Requirements

In courses / tab "members", the checkbox "notification about new members" is enabled by default.
 
We would like to change the default value to "disabled". The desired behaviour is that course administrators and tutors will not receive these notifications unless they have deliberately activated the checkbox.

3 Discussion

JF 7 July 2014: We agree that notifications should not be activated implicitly. User should deliberatly activate the feature. We schedule this as a usability for for 4.5.

kzimmermann 29.03.2015: We strongly appreciate this feature, funding is possible by FH Münster.

Matthias Kunkel, March 31, 2015: Because this request has already been accepted by the Jour Fixe and scheduled for 5.0 (4.5), I re-schedule it for 5.1 without additional Jour Fixe discussion (to save time for more controversial discussions).

4 Implementation

Wolf, Fabian [fwolf], 27th August 2015:

Added two settings into administration to handle this behavior in courses and groups.

• Administration > Course > Notify Course Administrators
• Administration > Group > Notify Group Administrators
