Copy and Paste elements in ILIAS Page Editor
Page Overview
[Hide]1 Initial Problem
When you copy an element in ILIAS page editor, and then you paste this element, then the ILIAS Page editor scrolls to the Top of the page.
2 Conceptual Summary
After copying, cutting, and after pasting an element, the ILIAS Page editor should NOT scroll to the Top of the page.
Nice-To-Have: Keep the "pasted" element in the buffer, to allow pasting it multiple times.
3 User Interface Modifications
3.1 List of Affected Views
- Edit mode of the page editor (in any context)
3.2 User Interface Details
All user interface elements stay the same - only the existing copy-paste behaviour is altered (as above).
3.3 New User Interface Concepts

4 Technical Information
Behaviour is changed as specified. Copy/Paste will ajax-reload the page and keep the current position. Info messages are being displayed in OSDs. Content is kept in clipboard after paste actions.

7 Discussion
Alex Killing, 13 Apr 2014: I support this request.
Matthias Kunkel, 13 Apr 2014: I support this request, too. Based on the recommendations by the maintainer and the head of development I schedule the feature for 4.5.
Matthias Kunkel, 26 Oct 2014: Postponed due to missing funding / ressources.
Matthias Kunkel, 28 Feb 2015: This feature was already scheduled for a previous ILIAS version but not implemented due to missing funding or time. We re-schedule it automatically for 5.1 to save time for discussion new feature requests.
Kiegel, Colin [kiegel], 2016-22-06: I suggest another minor addition: please keep the "pasted" element in the buffer, to allow pasting it multiple times (needs another Jour Fixe discussion).
Kiegel, Colin [kiegel] 2017-02-03: Matthias Kunkel asked me to adapt this feature request to the new template. The original request has already been scheduled in the past.
JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], FEB 13, 2017: We highly appreciate this suggestion and schedule it for 5.3. We would like to keep the cut or copied content in the buffer for the session's duration.
Hesse, Joel [Joel_Hesse], 06.07.2017: works great. Thanks all. I does not work for pictures, copied to the clipboard (opens the clipboard to select a picture from the clipboard). I assume, this is an intented behaviour?
