Multiple pass scoring: change default setting to scoring the best pass

In test object / settings / scoring and results / multiple pass scoring, FHB Muenster suggests to change the default setting from "Score the last pass" to "Score the best pass".

4 Discussion

JF Sep 16 2013: We reject this request as long as only one instition supports this idea. Usually changing the default behaviour of settings confuses the users, and for us it seems to be questionable if the change improves the situation for the majority of ILIAS users. If either the SIG Assessment or three other institutions back this idea, we could schedule it for the main release.

kzimmermann Feb 12 2015: We still support this feature request because a lot of people in our university would like the default setting in a test to be "score the best pass". We do understand that this default change might be confusing to other users. We therefore suggest that this feature could be implemented in the administration so that in every installation the choice is up to the system administrator whether the default for this particular installation is "score the best pass" or "score the last pass".
