Improved arranging/sorting of data
1 Description
In the simulatoren-wiki, we have some overview pages (please see: <ilStrong/>http://simnet.charite.de/ilias/goto.php?target=wiki_41_Simulatoren&client_id=simnet )
For such overview pages, ILIAS page-editor should have a sortable table,

a) Simple columns
*text-column >> sorting in alphabetical order (asc/desc) // see Hersteller (attached picture)
*numerical-column >> (asc/desc) // see Preis in Euro
*media-column >> e.g. pictures/thumbnails >> not sortable // see Pict
*url-columns >> sorting in alphabetical order (asc/desc), url=clickable // see Online-Bestellformular
*internal wiki-links-column >> arranging in alphabetical order (asc/desc), clickable
b) Special columns
* wiki-link-column with an improved rating: in this column, ILIAS can show internal wiki-links with the overall rating of this page (sorting asc/desc by rating) // see "Interner Link mit Gesamtrating & Rating"
* wiki-link-column with an improved rating: in this column, ILIAS can show internal wiki-links with a special rating (one item) of this page (sorting asc/desc by rating)

4 Discussion
JF 21 Nov 2011: We first discussed, whether this could be a feature for the core. Currently we have the "data table" element in the page editor which could be suitable for these needs. Defining colums as sortable (numeric, alphanumeric) would be a good extension of this element. The sorting could be done in Javascript. More difficult would be pictures which can oncly be included by inline media links which is not the most comfortable way. Finally the wiki pages/rating columns would even be more difficult to be developed in a generic way. We do not think that this feature should go to the trunk. A second option would be to implement a plugin slot for page elements, so that plugins can implement new content elements that can be embedded into pages. The plugin could then be focused on your special needs.
Please add your comments and put this item on the JF agenda again afterwards.
