Calender as Content Object

If you need any help in filling out this wiki page, please visit our ILIAS Community FAQ. And please complete the metadata information in the right column after having created the page.

1 Initial Problem

Invitations for private calendars must be accepted by the each user of the target group in their Calender-Area, but there is no notification about the invitation. Private calendars cannot be embedded on pages. Therefor it is troublesome to communicate appointments to a target group that is not in a group or course. Also, users tend to use certain categories to go gather information rather than viewing one of many calendars.

2 Conceptual Summary

If we embed Calendars on Content Pages, there will be some issues:

  • Private calendars still have to be published for the users who should be able see it.
  • Even if the calendar is public, it will disappear if the owner is deleted/inactive.
Calendars therefore should be available as content-objects in categories, with the option to embed on the page in the monthly view.
