Sorting of Elements in a Learning Object driven course
1 Requirements
If a Course is set to be driven by learning objectives ("LoK"), it should be possible to sort the elements automatically by the result of the diagnostic test. Since a considerable number of people trends to work through a course in the order the elemants are presented, this would help in achieving the learning objectives of the course.
If -like used in optes- a LoK consists of a diagnostic test and references to other LoKs, here the order of the LoK-references presented to the user should be ordered by the result of the diagnostic (or qualifying) first test (course with weakest result first).
Probably there has to be an additional administrative Valus inside the course settings which is multiplicated with the test result, to ensure some elements/courses are ranked higer if these are prerequisites of other learning objectives (As an example: In Math it may be the result that yout testing score is worst in "solving equations", but the result of "calculating" is bad too. In this situation it is advisable to improve "calculating" first, which could be achieved throug a weighting factor set to the objectives.
This concept could be adopted to a type of "Learning Objective driven Study Programme" too, to add another functionality to the study programme.
I could imagine to add another sorting option to a course if it is set to "Learning objective driven" which represents something like "By result of introductory test"
and use the manual sorting values to give course administrators a way to enter a "weight" of an object
