Local Role Templates

Today role templates can only be specified for an ILIAS client as a whole.

We are currently using one ILIAS client for a number of different study programs. Each study program has its own security policy. For example, for one study program, we would like to open all courses to all users, whereas for other programs, we would like to keep the courses closed.

Currently, we achieve this, by changing the local policy in the course objects after we have created them. Since a study program can have over 100 courses each year, this is very tedious.

Therefore, we would like to create local role templates at categories in ILIAS.

• Funding: Not funded yet
• Development: A prototype is being developed at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
