1 Initial Problem

With ILIAS 9, the feature Improved presentation of ILIAS links in social media was introduced to improve the presentation of links to ILIAS pages in social media. a standard image (ILIAS logo) is displayed in each case.

2 Conceptual Summary

the tile image of an object - if available - should now be used when a link to an object is shared in social media. this means that no new masks are required in ILIAS where specific images are uploaded for this purpose. the image of a tile is used and delivered in a cropped version

4 Technical Information

The feature is an extension of the existing `RepositoryOpenGraphExposer` and uses the tile images that are already stored in the IRSS. 9 Discussion

Kunkel, Matthias [mkunkel], 26 NOV 2024: PDF generation in ILIAS has been removed, see Abandon PDFService. Therefore, this request cannot be realised anymore.

Lorenz, Katharina [klorenz], 28 NOV 2024: We think there is a misunderstanding here, this has nothing to do with PDF generation. It would simply generate an image for OpenGraph for all file objects that also support a preview, which can be used instead of the default ILIAS image. Or the tile image would be used for all other objects that can have tile images.
