Session Reminder and Configuration as a User Default Settings

1 Initial Problem

Currently, no platform-wide settings can be made for the "Session Reminder" user setting.

2 Conceptual Summary

For ILIAS 10, the feature Split-Up Standard Fields Table and Move to DataTable is planned. In this feature, the user default settings are transferred to a separate table. The Session-Reminder setting will be added to this table. The Access and Export columns are provided based on other settings. The session reminder requires an entry in minutes as a setting. To deactivate the session reminder, the value can be set to "0". This is communicated via a byline.

In the settings of the user, instead of activation and subsequent definition of a value, it should be possible to define a value directly. To deactivate the session reminder, the value can be set to "0". This is communicated via a byline.

3.2 User Interface Details

Settings Table in User Management » 'Settings'-Tab » 'User Default Settings'-Subtab is extended with 'Session Reminder'.

User Settings in Profile and Privacy with changed form input. Form input is only available if globally defined as visible.

 
As in some other cases, it would be useful to be able to enter units after the 'Numeric' form input. If the KS is extended by time it is implemented, we would want to display a unit ('min').
