Abandon Pie Chart in Poll
Page Overview
[Hide]1 Reasons to Abandon Feature
The option to present the results of Polls as a pie chart is an obstacle in moving the content of Polls to the Kitchen Sink. It is currently the only use of pie charts in ILIAS, so it should be removed if not absolutely required.
All Poll results should be displayed as bar charts, and the input 'Show Results as' from the Poll settings should be removed.

5 Discussion
Use the following discussion section to express your objections against this request or your consent to get rid of this feature.
Kunkel, Matthias [mkunkel], 17 JAN 2024: Removing the option to present poll results in a pie chart would be loss for ILIAS. Bar charts are not always the best option to present results. Isn't there a reasonable way to move the poll content to KS and offer both pie and bar charts?
Schmitz, Tim [tschmitz], 25 JAN 2024: I looked into this a bit more, and found an (at least in my opinion) preferrable alternative to pie charts, which as an added bonus are also much easier to implement in the KS. Please have a look at Introducing KS-Charts for Poll.
For the time being, I retracted the application for a JF slot for this article in favor of the aforementioned alternative. Thanks for making me look into this again!
6 Implementation
{The maintainer has to give a description of the final implementation and possible consequences for existing installations.}
