Abandon ‘Views‘ in Learning Progress Tables
Page Overview
[Hide]1 Reasons to Abandon Feature
The functionality to save the current state of a table and its filter as a 'View', and reload that saved state later, is currently used exclusively in Learning Progress tables. To re-implement it for the new KS data table would take a disproportionate amount of effort, thus we suggest to abandon it entirely with the move to KS.
If one wants to perform data analysis on the Learning Progress tables to the point where saved views become useful, one should instead export the tables into external tools made for that purpose.
2 Technical Information
Affected are all tables in the 'Learning Progress' tab of objects, in Achievements > Learning Progress, and in Administration > Achievements > Statistics and Learning Progress > Learning Progress.
The feature is implemented in Services/Table, but since that component is to be abandoned with ILIAS 10 anyways, we only propose to disable the associated functionality in the aforementioned tables.
