(Project) Centralising Online/Offline Status

This is a project page that bundles several feature wiki pages which belong to a larger development activity for all ILIAS components that offer a setting to set the object online or offline.

1 Aim of Project

Currently there is no centralised implementation for handling the online/offline status in different repository objects (modules). With release 5.4 the following object types support online/offline status, but each of them used an own implementation:

  • Course
  • Learning Module

  • Poll
  • Portfolio Template
  • SCORM
  • Survey
  • Survey Pool

  • Test Pool

Methods for retrieving and manipulating the online/offline status will handled in the object service base classes. ILIAS objects have to define whether they support online/offline settings in their module.xml.

Aim of the project is that every repository object (except the following ones) supports a centralised online/offline status.

Object types that should not have an online/offline status at all:

  • Category
  • Folder
  • Item Group
  • RSS Feed
  • Session
  • Study Programme
