Abandon Assign Materials from Personal Ressources in Competence Records-Tab

1 Reasons to Abandon Feature

It is possible for users to assign materials from their Personal Resources to competence levels. This feature is hardly used. A usability test in the Portfolio and Competencies SIG showed that users do not understand this feature and find it confusing.

Competency management should be used to suggest learning resources and define goals. The assignment of own content should no longer be supported at this point.

Brauns, Johanna [jbrauns], 10 NOV 2022: Please don't aband this feature. At Hochschule Bremen we use it in a lot of courses. The students assign their papers to prove a competence for example and link them to their portfolios.
