1 Initial Problem

The Config of Sortation and Presantion is in an action menu mixed. Sometimes with real actions.

2 Conceptual Summary

To improve the ability to find the functions and to ensure uniform operation, ViewControls from the UI framework should be used for all dashboard sections.

Dashbord

- Recommended Content
- My Courses and Groups
- Learning Sequences
- Study Programmes
My Courses and Groups (own screen in Mainbar » Repository » My Courses and Groups)
(Possibly also Favourites in Slate, only using View Control Sortation and Action Menu. This could also handled separate.)

3.2 User Interface Details

All Dashboard Sections using …

… a View Control Mode (List View | Tile View) and
… a View Control Sortation (Sort by Type | … Location | … Alphabet | … Start Date) (If sortation value exists.)
… an action menu

View controls are only offered if the user can also change something in the display (Mode) or sorting (Sortation) according to the global configuration.

Details of View Control Sortation (Sort by Type | … Location | … Alphabet | … Start Date). Four Options would be maximum.

9 Discussion

Samoila, Oliver [oliver.samoila], 16 FEB 2023: In a small excursion, Yvonne Seiler and I discussed about using glyphs for the ViewControl Sortation. Here is a mock-up. This is not essential for scheduling on the feature, but an opinion on this would be helpful.

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 06 MAR 2023: We highly appreciate this suggestion and schedule the feature for ILIAS 9.

10 Implementation

Samoila, Oliver [oliver.samoila], 24 JUL 2023: The documentation for Release 9 will follow after the processing of https://mantis.ilias.de/view.php?id=26634 and https://mantis.ilias.de/view.php?id=33967 as these will still influence the content and visual design. The same applies to the icons to be integrated.

Screenshots will follow as soon as the upcoming UI changes for Release 9 are implemented. The screenshots should reflect the development as well as possible.
