Revamping Forum Messages

1 Initial Problem

There is a need for the visual preparation of the forum:

(1) Readability of posting and posting hierarchy
(2) Recognizability of "Moderation" and "Censored" statuses
(3) Display of Postings in Kitchen Sink "Standard Listing Panel/Item"
(4) Split button and side effect for censored postings ("Mark as read | unread")
(5) Toolbar " Primary Split Button " doesn´t exist in Kitchen Sink at all
(6) Second toolbar at the end of the page is not the same as the one in the header area

2 Conceptual Summary

The aim should be:

- an increased recognizability of functions due to a resolution of the split-button
- a better recognition of individual replies in thread (for example by indentations)
- the detection of new replies and moderation posts by different Color+Marker

3 User Interface Modifications

3.1 List of Affected Views

• Suggestion: New Sorting-Tab to clean up the view. "by reply/by date" and "Latest posting at the bottom" as Links below

• Suggestion: Increased recognizability of "replies" and the dropdown-menue due to a resolution of the split-button.

• Suggestions:

- Indentations with gray background for better recognition of individual replies in thread
- Better recognition of reply levels due to lines in tree-view

• Suggestion: Forum legend at the bottom with explanation of color symbology and perhaps revision of the color symbolism.

- New (green?)
- Moderator (yellow?)
- Censored (red?)
