Limited Display Time for Test Questions

1 Initial Problem

In specific scenarios test questions need to be displayed for a fixed/limited amount of time. When the time runs out, the test needs to navigate to the next question and lock the answer for the previous question.

2 Conceptual Summary

A new optional subsetting Limit Duration of Question Display is introduced under:

• TEST / Settings / Participant Answers / Lock Answers with the Presentation of Follow-Up Questions
• TEST / Settings / Participant Answers / Lock Answers with the Presentation of Feedback or Follow-Up Questions

A seperate countdown timer per question is added the testplayer quesion GUI.

The option to set a fixed time to display for each question is added under:

• TEST / Questions / List View (fixed number of questions only!)

The option to set one (1) fixed time to display for ALL questions is added under:

• TEST / Questions / Configuration (random selection of questions only!)

9 Discussion

Jansen, Michael [mjansen], 03 SEPT 2021: There is already a similar feature request: Limited Question Working Time. There is an existing patch implementation compatible with ILIAS 6.x (upgraded by Databay AG), implemented by Heyser, Björn [bheyser] and funded/used by DoD NL.
