Replace TinyMCE with Page Editor in Survey

1 Initial Problem

The fully configurable Tiny editor is not very well maintained in ILIAS. It should be relpaced by the ILIAS page editor in the survey. This would be the case for:

  • Question Texts in Survey Questions
  • Introductory Message of a Survey
  • Concluding Remarks

2 Conceptual Summary

All forms that currently contain a tiny input area will get

  • A simple input textarea are without tiny
  • A view mode switch in the toolbar "Simple / Advanced Editing"
  • If switched to Advanced Editing the textareas are replaced with a Shy Button "Edit" which leads to the page editor.
For an intermediate time, the existing Tiny HTML content will be displayed in the simple mode. A information text will state the limited support of the HTML content. There will not be any automatic conversion.

A future ILIAS version will disable the HTML interpretation of the old content.
