Select Content Style for Single Views of Data Collection

1 Initial Problem

It is not possible to configure which content style should be used for a data collection. The data collection can only use the content style that is defined as 'Standard'.

2 Conceptual Summary

• It should be possible to assign a content style to a data collection. This follows the typical specifications of standard content style, scope and the creation of individual content styles.
• A content style can only be selected for the entire data collection. All single views of all entries in all tables of a data collection use the same content style.
• The data collection does not include any new style classes for content stlyes.

• Usage of ILIAS Page Editor in DataCollection Single Views
• Sub-Tabs like "Style" in using ILIAS page Editor within DataCollection (Please hide subtab if no style settings can be made.)

Tab 'Settings' get subtabs 'General Setting' and 'Style'.

No special requirements in respect of accessibility are to be expected.

24 May 2024, Glaubitz, Marko [mglaubitz]: We would be interested in contributing to this streamlining endeavour. Our main concern is that the page editor of the Single View does not support Content Styles.

Samoila, Oliver [oliver.samoila], 05 August 2024: This happens by selecting "Force this style on all objects". Nothing can be done in the style settings.

10 Implementation

This feature was implemented here.

The implementation differs from the conceptual summary in 2 points:

• The subtab "Style" is not hidden when no changes can be made. Instead, it shows the locked style as conventional in ILIAS.
• In communication with the UI-Clinic, the first sub tab of "Settings" is not labeled "General Settings" nor "Basic Settings", but "General" instead.

The visual effect of the changed style itself varies from the users configuration and is therefore not displayed here.
