Filter for System E-Mails

1 Initial Problem

ILIAS sends a lot of mail notifications. If mail notifications are received locally or also locally, it can be difficult to keep track of all messages.
Especially due to the large number of system mail notifications, it becomes confusing.

2 Conceptual Summary

A number of filters already exist for mails. This is to be extended by the option "Hide system e-mails". (Default is deactivated.)
This filters all mails that are generated automatically by ILIAS (e.g. notifications from courses or wikis). It has no impact on mails forwarded to the external mail account.

No. If there is already an implementation in the KS filters for all filter types, the new filters could also be integrated.

4 Technical Information

5 Privacy

The filter state is persisted in table table_properties (like all derivatives of ilTable2GUI) and related to the ID of the acting user. Apart from that no further/new data will be collected or stored.

9 Discussion

Jansen, Michael [mjansen] 10 May, 2021: With ILIAS 9 we could also think about using the UI Filters instead. This will not be possible with ILIAS 8, because the main filter element (search query) is very dynamic and horizontal checkboxes will appear below the field when typing to specify the attributes the query is searched in. There is no equivalent element in the UI framework, yet (and absolutely no time to build such for ILIAS 8).
