Importing SCORM metadata into ILIAS metadata

1 Description

Metadata of a SCORM module (metadata.xml) should be imported to ILIAS metadata when module is uploaded to ILIAS. Otherwise, these metadata is not searchable and usable within ILIAS.

And it would be great if the module's metadata could easily be adopted to an entire ILIAS course where the SCORM module is placed in.

4 Discussion

Uwe Kohnle: 26 May 2014: I support this request and recommend its implementation for 4.5.

JF 23 June 2014: We support the first part of the request (import of xml metadata into ILIAS LOM metadata) and schedule it for 4.5. We reject the second part, a SCORM package is not allowed to write the metadata of a parent course.

Bischoff, Ulf [u.kunze] Kunze, Ulf, 20 January 2020: Importing already existing metadata from SCORM files reduces the workload on maintaining and Improving the Files. Information like the Creator, Lifecycle, Licencing, Topics and classifications should not be lost during the import.

Zenzen, Enrico [ezenzen], 05 AUG 2022: This request no longer fulfills the requirements of the Feature Wiki. In consultation with the maintainer I change the status of the feature request to "Redundant / outdated". If the request is still relevant, please update template and mockups.
