Formula Question: Support additional php math functions

If you need any help in filling out this wiki page, please visit our ILIAS Community FAQ. And please complete the metadata information in the right column after having created the page.

1 Initial Problem

Currently only a limited number of php math functions are usable in the formula of a result. Lecturers miss rounding functions within the formula.

You may enter predefined variables ($v1 to $vn), defined results (e.g. $r1), braces for expressions, mathematical operators + (addition), - (subtraction), * (multiplication), / (division), ^ (nth power), the constants ‘pi’ for pi and ‘e’ for euler's constant, as well as the functions ‘sin’, ‘sinh’, ‘arcsin’, ‘asin’, ‘arcsinh’, ‘asinh’, ‘cos’, ‘cosh’, ‘arccos’, ‘acos’, ‘arccosh’, ‘acosh’, ‘tan’, ‘tanh’, ‘arctan’, ‘atan’, ‘arctanh’, ‘atanh’, ‘sqrt’, ‘abs’, ‘ln’ and ‘log’.

2 Conceptual Summary

The following functions should also be available:

  • ceil — Round fractions up
  • floor — Round fractions down
  • round — Rounds a float

If yes, please explain these implications and include a commitment to deliver a written security concept as part of the feature development. This concept will need an additional approvement by the JourFixe. }
