Competence assignment for essay question type

1 Initial Problem

Currently survey results from essay question type cannot be saved/stored globally.  Users reach their textual feedbacks in the results tab of a source object. If the object has been deleted, then the results are gone for good.

2 Conceptual Summary

We propose to make competence assignment for essay question type.

  • Users assign an essay question to one competence
  • As essay question type cannot be measured, competence thresholds for this type of question should be abandoned
  • The results are displayed in the competence records
  • Users trigger the report panel by clicking on Details in Actions
  • Report panel appears directly under the competence panel displaying the results (textual input) as well as generated metadata alongside (date, source object etc.)

We propose to save all textual feedbacks from a survey in portfolio or personal workspace.
Critical isssues:

  • in what format should results be presented? (PDFs, onscreen text etc.)
  • where and how the results should be stored to ensure a thematic connection to the competencies?

  • Competence records > Actions > Details (new)
  • Presentation of competence records
