Alphabetical Sorting for Favorites and My Courses & Groups

1 Initial Problem

With ILIAS 6 the new favourites have been made available in slate.
It is remarkable that much too much information is used with superscripts for locations and object types.

2 Conceptual Summary

Therefore we want to provide an additional alphabetical sorting for the favourites.
If this is selected, it will also apply on the dashboard.
 
Therefore, for consistency, we would like to allow alphabetical sorting for courses and groups as well.
There are no subheadings in alphabetical sorting - especially no "A | B | C | D | E | F | G | ...".  ;)

• Entry "sort alphabetical" in Action Menu of Dashboard Panels "Favourites" and "My Courses and Groups" (Same in Screen "Remove Multiple Actions")
• Administration: Additional Checkboxes for Activation of alphabetical Sorting in Panels and additional Radio option for Default

No technical issues.

5 Privacy Information

The sorting option is stored per user. Not sure if this qualifies as "private data".

We do not see any changes for special security issues.

9 Discussion

Kunkel, Matthias [mkunkel], 19 MAY 2020 : Label for new sorting option should be either "Sort by Alphabet" or "Sort Alphabetically" and in both cases the first option (to list sorting options alphabetically ;-).

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 08 JUN 2020 : We highly appreciate this suggestion and schedule the feature for ILIAS 7. We prefer the label "Sort by Alphabet".
