Moving Posts
1 Description
We think it would be very useful to have a posibility to move (single) posts in an other topic. In many forums students start a new topic instead of writing a reply.
There is currently no option to move posts from one topic into an other.
2 Status
- Scheduled for: not scheduled yet (has been scheduled for v. 4.3 but postponed due to missing funding)
- Funding: Required
- Development: Feature is to be developed by Databay AG

4 Discussion
We totally support this suggestion! Sometimes, discussion posts are off topic but would be interesting in another thread. There should be the possibility to move them around, just like you can do with whole threads.

We also like this merge-feature. (= Zusammenführen)
Thread1 (thema a)
First Discussion-text from teacher
Thread2 (New thread of a student to thema a)
First Discussion-text from student
- Answer: Reply from teacher
Now the teacher merge Thread2 to thread1, then he get:
ThreadX (Merged Threads)
First Discussion-text from teacher
- First Discussion-text from student (Reply)
-- Answer: Reply from teacher

JF 16 Apr 2012: If we allow to move a posting, all anwers of this posting (subtree) will be moved with it. The source thread should keep a "reference posting" that links to the new location. We agree that this would be a valuable feature. We schedule this solution for 4.3.
However merging of complete threads (HJL suggestion) would be a separate feature (-> please create a separate wiki page).
