New Question-Type: Priority Choice

1 Initial Problem

We get students to indicate their priorities from a list of options, i.e. indicate your priorities 1 to 3 from ten options.
Currently we must pose three survey questions:

  • Single Choice 1: Select your first priority from the following ten options.
  • Single Choice 2: Select your second priority from the following ten options.
  • Single Choice 3: Select your third priority from the following ten options.
This leads to some options getting more than one priority and thus corrup data.

2 Conceptual Summary

We would like to introduce a new question type: Priority Questions.

3 User Interface Modifications

3.1 List of Affected Views

  • Amend "create Questions" form
  • New edit question form for question type "Date"
  • New presentation of Date type question
  • New results presentation for Overview, Details and per Participant
  • New presentation in table of Questions tab
While there are no new screens required the new question type also needs
  • import
  • export

3.2 User Interface Details

3.3 New User Interface Concepts

None.

4 Technical Information

{The maintainer has to provide necessary technical information, e.g. dependencies on other ILIAS components, necessary modifications in general services/architecture, potential security or performance issues.}

5 Privacy Information

The same personal data could be stored as for other question types - obviously depending on the settings of any individual survey:
First and last name, login, last access, working time, status , finishing date, answers to questions

6 Security Implications

There are no special security relevant changes apparent to me - this is no change of how the component works in general but only "one more" question type.
