Invite Survey Participant

1 Initial Problem

In ILIAS 5.4 exists a feature "Put Link on Personal Desktop" in surveys. There will be no personal desktop in ILIAS 6.0.

During the discussion of Recommended Content we decided to replace this feature by a "task" instead.

2 Conceptual Summary

Instead of "putting anything on the desktop". We will allow to "Invite Participants" on the existing Participants screen. This makes the whole feature more consistent with other components (e.g. the Exercise). We will remove the possibility to do this with ALL users of the platfrom, since this is not possible anywhere else in the system (members/participants screens).

All users that started a survey and did not finish it and all invited participants will get a "Finish Survey" task.

3 User Interface Modifications

3.1 List of Affected Views

3.2 User Interface Details

Survey > Participants > Put Link on Personal Desktop

This screen will be completely removed.


Participants > Dashboard

• This screen will be renamed to "Overview"
• It will get an additional Button "Invite Participants" in the Toolbar which starts the usual user search workflow.
• The "Survey Finished" column will be renamed to "Status" and may hold the values "Invited", "In Progress" and "Finished".
• The action "Delete the Survey Data of the Selected Users" will be renamed to "Remove Participant". This action can be performed also be performed on participants that are only invited.

• A new Task "Finish Survey" will appear for all survey participants that did not finish a survey.

3.3 New User Interface Concepts

No new interface concepts.

Not changed due to this feature. Is an invitation to a survey a private data?
