Allow to create introductory text in Item Group

1 Initial Problem

This is one part of a bigger feature request to simplify the interaction between the ILIAS Page Edior and the creation of ILIAS Objects. It was decided to takle this problem in smaller requests addressing specific issues. Sometimes the only thing you want to do is add a little bit of text to every group of items, so that the learners get some guidance.

2 Conceptual Summary

To address this an option is added to the Item List to add an introductory text shown inside the Item List before the items in the list.

3 User Interface Modifications

3.1 List of Affected Views

• Main view of Item List
• Editing view of Item List ("Edit Content")

3.2 User Interface Details

• On the main view of an Item List between the title and list of items a page can be shown. The page is only visible when the Item List is open.
• In the editing view:
  • The Title of the "Content" tab is changed to content.
  • A sub menu is added to the tab "Content" with the two entries "Manage" and "Customize Page". The "Manage" sub menu shows the current view of the "Materials" view, the "Customize Page" sub tab leads to the ILIAS Page Editor as it is implemented in container objects in ILIAS now.

3.3 New User Interface Concepts

Killing, Alexander [alex], 24 Jan 2020: Since the item groups should be presented by Listing Panels in the hopefully near future, we need to extend these and design mockups imo.

7 Discussion

Killing, Alexander [alex], 24 Jan 2020: I support the idea in general, however we need to specify the design and extension of the Listing Panels imo.

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 03 FEB 2020 : We highly appreciate this suggestion and schedule the feature for 7. Ressource lists / item lists should not be added to the new content block of an item list (to prevent another level of cascading). We recommend to wait with the implementation of this feature some weeks until have a clearer view of what similar processes might be tackled by the planned page editor revision.
