ILIAS Learning Module: Show Print View and Download in Modal Dialogues
Page Overview
[Hide]1 Initial Problem
Currently, "Print View" and "Download" are implemented as "subtabs" and each produce a new screen with the needed controls of each function. However, when an ILIAS LM is supposed to be displayed in a kiosk mode (i.e. within a learning sequence) this behaviour produces unnecessary screens or controls.
2 Conceptual Summary
"Print View" and "Download" should be implemented using modal dialogues instead of ordinary screens. Both functions have a kind of meta character. Using a modal for them would leave the user in the same contentwise context, which brings advantages in terms of usability and makes the integration in a kiosk mode context (LSO) much easier.
