Improve Manage-Tab in Mediacasts
Page Overview
[Hide]1 Initial Problem
The Manage-Tab in Mediacasts displays the media objects in a list view. The actions are displayed at different locations. This makes the Manage View look messy and users often don't find the actions, such as Download or Edit.
2 Conceptual Summary
The media objects are displayed in a table (ILIAS 5.4). We want to revise this screen. All actions receive an action menu and can be selected via this menu. In addition to the previous informations, the description is also displayed in the list view.

9 Discussion
JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 30 MAR 2020 : We highly appreciate this suggestion and schedule the feature for ILIAS 7. We prefer the presentation made in version 3 using the standard listing panel. But this UI element is currently not supporting multi-actions. Timon and Enrico will think about how to allow this UI element to support multi-actions and make a decision until the next Jour Fixe. If version 3 cannot be realised, version 1 is implemented instead.
Killing, Alexander [alex], 20.3.2023: I still support the idea, currently we could implement version 3 without multi actions or version 1 if the KS data tables are meant to support image columns.
JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 20 MAR 2023: We still like the feature and re-schedule it for ILIAS 9. But we prefer to use the new Data Table (instead of the Standard Listing Panel as stated in the decision from 2020) for the manage screen. It is sufficient to represent videos as pictures in the table. No need to run them inline. University Bern would highly appreciate to offer funding for extending the Data Table and allow the use of pictures within table cells – if necessary.
Strassner, Denis [dstrassner], 20 MAR 2023: The related information about A11y in chap. 3.4 are missing, as in the other re-scheduled requests today. It would be nice if you can also add these.
